The Fansky mounts the highest part of the Zeravshan ridge - with 11 summits above 5000m. The highest peaks are Chimtorga (5487m), Bodhana (5138m), Miraly and Energia. The area is about 50 km East of Samarkand and offers excellent Alpine-style rock routes of medium grades. Doug Scott led an expedition here in 1992.

- Chapdara (5,050 m)
- Adamtash (4,700 m)
- Maria-Mirali group (4,970 m, 5,120 m)
Two newly opened up areas in Turkestan are Laylak and Karavshin valleys, which wonderful summits (including peak Piramidalnyi, 5510m) and most interesting routes. Here there are lots of possibilities for first ascents of steep granite faces up to grade 6A, resembling faces ascents in the Karakoram (Trango), Patagonia, Chamonix or El Capitan in Yosemite.
