The warm climate, unique naturescapes, good transport connections and nearest coast of the Black Sea makes Crimea routes very attractive for climbers of all kind of experience. The south orientation of the routes permits you to climb all year. The possibility to start your ascent sometimes just from the road and to go down by the easy footpaths (all the routes are finishing on the Yaila - the specific Crimea upper plateau) makes your climbs like a holiday.

Climbing areas

The rocks can be reached in two-four hours by car (or mountain trolleybus - an ordinary transport in Crimea) from the Simferopol airport or train station.

The Crimea mountains lies from the west to the east from Balaclava to Feodosia you can divide into a few climbing areas. They are very different because of climbing possibilities also. So we will discribe them due to these possibilities. Mostly the walls are composed of marble-view limestones,they are monolite and not very destructed.

• The best time to go to the Crimea - late spring - autumn (till late November). This is the place with absolutely clear air and mix fantastic nature.
• Recommendation - drop at Nikitskiy Botanicheskiy Sad (The Nikitskiy Botanical Garden). Gorgeous collection of plant from all over the world. You'll be pleasantly surprised!
• Advice: Better arrange such trip by travel company or friends. The Crimea is now the territory of the Ukraine. So you will need Ukraine visas. Problem: all signs, schedules, information are in Russian as a rule(sometimes in Ukranian). Better to take the guide to translate and contact with officiers.
• Flight: Moscow - Simferopol. (There is the direct international flights to Kiev, then - to Simferopol). However if your agent or friends are Moscowiets, much better to fly from Moscow. Cheapest airline is "Aeroflot". But no insurens!

• Currency: You can take your national currency. There are manyexchange offices everywhere in Russia and Ukraine. The rate is constantly changing.
• Traffic: There are some bus roads from Simferopol to all climbing places. Practically no problem. But the bus schedule can not be known from Moscow or other places. Very popular to use mountain trolleybus.
