Liana Darenskaya founded "RISK Online" in December 1995. Since then the site has been designed and supported by the Machaon group, one of the leading Russian Web providers.

It is the only Russian site covering outdoor activities. We gather information about these in Russia, the CIS countries and abroad, about mountain regions, events, people, projects, expeditions. Our main interest is focused on climbing, mountaineering, skydiving and extreme skiing, but we are open to all information sources, to any ideas and proposals concerning outdoor life. "RISK Online" provides Internet coverage of the biggest projects and expedition such as "Big Walls - Russian routes", all Himalayan expeditions, International Mountaineering Trophy, etc. We have been working with the leading mountaineers of our country, bringing reliable and up-to-date information to our readers. The Russian Mountaineering Federation is one of the organisations we collaborate with. "RISK Online" presents the Federation in Internet.

We have already taken part in different outdoor exhibitions in Europe and Russia, in the French "Piolet d' or" winter ceremony in particular. We share our information with American Alpine Journal, High magazine and other publications of the western climbing media. On the Russian side we have a close partnership with "Verticalny Mir" ("Vertical world") magazine. We often work together with the "NTV+" Channel and "X-mania" TV program, occasionally - with different newspapers.

We stay in contact with the French Mountaineering Federation and personally with its president Jean Claude Marmier who writes regularly for us. He has visited our mountain regions not once and enjoyed these trips. Also he helps talented Russian climbers to come and climb in Chamonix.
